Mitosis Furniture
Mitosis is a concept based on abstract interpretations of cellular division and molecular movement. These laser-cut, break-formed, welded and powder-coated steel pieces, serve as studies of positive and negative space, as well as experimentations of light and shadow, while fusing both art and science. Ohm was developed and designed as a garden meditation stool, crafted entirely with recycled wood pieces donated by local woodworkers, and laminated together using water-based wood glue. Dimensions: 24”W x 14”L x 16”H -
modular chaise longue
This modular chaise was based on bringing high comfort to small spaces. It was hand-made with bent aluminum flat bar, along with stretched nylon mesh. This chaise can be used as a comfortable lounge chair, and can be neatly stored when not in use. When this chaise is extended, it measures 24" W x 72" L x 14"H, and 24" W x 36" L x 18"H when stored. -

This webbed chair was inspired by linear mesh. Hand-crafted with Anaeroba wood and nylon straps. Dimensions: 22" W x 18" D x 30"H. -

Mitosis Light Column
This light column is installed at Concord CityPlace's Presentation Center in downtown Toronto. It was fabricated using a laser-cut and powder-coated steel shell, with a frosted polycarbonate insert, housing the programmable LED lighting system. This light column, measuring two feet in diameter and six feet in height, represents the first in a series of columns which are installed throughout Panorama Tower's Mitosis Courtyard and range from six to fourteen feet tall and are accompanied by similarily-patterned public seating.
