Public Art Proposal for Hospital Donor Wall
Detailed design proposal for the Royal Alexandra’s Hospital’s Donor Wall. The concept for this vibrant donor wall was inspired by hospital donors and their important contributions. Like the cells of a thriving organism, the individual donors represent the foundation, structure and building blocks of this hospital. This two-storey design proposal would be fabricated with laser-cut and powder-coated steel screens, with large cutouts of abstracted cells. The donor plaques would be translucent polycarbonate, computer etched with the appropriate donor name and donation category. Programmable LED lights would be installed behind each donor plaque to create a glowing and vibrant Donor Wall, which would engage hospital staff, patients and visitors. -
Feature Wall Proposal for CK Hui Heart Center
The concept for this vibrant installation was inspired by the beauty of the human heart and its intricate circulatory system. This feature wall consists of a playfully abstracted heart, with connecting arteries and vessels which intertwine with each other to produce a lively and animated piece. Heart Wall would be crafted using large laser-cut steel shapes, which would be layered and interwoven together to create dynamic public artwork. -
Ribbon Bench proposal for municipal park
A refreshing twist of the standard park bench, Ribbon Bench is influenced by urban movement. The unique interlaced design not only acts as a dynamic art piece for any metropolitan landscape or city park, but also as a prominent meeting point for those who are seeking quick refuge from the fast-paced city life. It provides numerous comfortable seating options, encouraging public interaction, as it reflects the movement of our city, while creating a contrast from the linear urban setting. -
Front Street ReDesign Concept
Design proposal to help reinvigorate Front Street neighborhood with the use of vibrant color, shapes and patterns. This second-place contest entry included a 3D renders of perspective and top views illustrating this playful depiction of our city’s growth and movement throughout the urban environments.
